-----Remembering Rudy - The Walk 2026 -----

On June 7th 2026, we successfully completed A Walk Around the World for Rudy 2026! This marks the 13th annual walk in memory of Rudy.

This year we had over 200 people taking part and we blew past the finish line, achieving 117% of the total challenge distance. The 2026 cohort have set a new record and one which we expect will be very hard to beat. Every single one of our walkers should be incredibly proud of this huge achievement!

As always, we started our virtual journey in London, UK and circumnavigated the world, finishing back in London on the North bank of the River Thames (St Katharine Docks).

Team Switzerland held on to the crown as reigning champions, coming first once again. Team Sweden wasn’t too far behind in second place, just edging out Team Portugal, who came third. 

Congratulations as well to our top 10 walkers who managed to rack up some incredible distances once again this year. A very special congratulations to Angie Strembitsky and Sarah Mills who came first and second, respectively, out of 217 walkers. This may come as no surprise to some as last year they came first and second as well, in reverse order. But this year, both managed to log over 1 million steps over the course of the month!! Angela and Sarah will be only the third and fourth recipients of the 1 Million Steps Medal in all the years of hosting the Walk. A truly impressive physical feat!

A Walk Around the World for Rudy received incredible support from a community of friends, family, and colleagues, and together we have raised funds for essential research into rare and inoperable brain cancers like Gliomatosis Cerebri.
