The 5th International Conference on Gliomatosis Cerebri was held in London, where we marked ten years since we began with the first conference, which was held in Paris in 2015, followed by the one at the NIH in Bethesda in 2017, Barcelona in 2019, and New York in 2023 after having to miss one due to Covid.
Over three days, participants engaged in scientific and passionate discussions aimed at improving outcomes for children, adolescents, young adults, and older adults affected by Gliomatosis Cerebri, a rare inoperable brain cancer.
The conference at Senate House in London (17–19 September) successfully brought together top experts—including researchers, clinicians, neurosurgeons, neuro-radiologists, and other specialists—from major hospitals and research centres from London, New York, Paris, Milan, Rome, Barcelona, Bethesda, Boston, Strasbourg, Utrecht, Augsburg, Bonn, Washington DC, Chennai, Lima, Houston, Berlin, Zurich, Graz, San Francisco, Cincinnati, Frankfurt, Bucheon in Korea, and Heidelberg.
With the help of the co-chairs Prof. Chris Jones of The Institute of Cancer Research , Mariella Filbin, Andres Morales, and Jeffrey P. Greenfield, along with the 88 delegates who attended, the conference provided a dynamic platform for the exchange of cutting edge research, innovative ideas, and collaborative opportunities. The conference featured a rich and varied program including keynote speeches and panel discussions. Those participating praised the organisation, scientific opportunities, and the collaborative opportunities the three day conference provided.
The event has truly set a high standard for future international scientific gatherings. The announcement for the next GC Conference in 2027 to be held at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, came at the closing of this one in London.
We at The Rudy A Menon Foundation are proud to have partnered with Prof. Chris Jones of The Institute of Cancer Research and would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the speakers, participants and the global family foundations without whom this conference would not have been possible.
