2018 has been a year where the Rudy A Menon Foundation has increased its funding for Research by 30% when we gave The Institute of Cancer Research, our annual check in June, 2018. This has been made possible by the love and support the Foundation has received from our supporters.

From January of this year, the Foundation commenced work on an international cookbook ‘ A PUNCH OF CULINARY COLOUR’ , a collection of 101 recipes, shared by 80 friends and Family from 40 different countries. The recipes are family favourites, handed down from grandmothers & mothers.

The book is international in so many different ways. It was photographed by a Kuwaiti food photographer in Kuwait, was designed by a graphic designer in India, was printed by a printing house in Croatia on paper that was sourced from a paper mill in Sweden.

The Book was launched in Kuwait, London as well as Vienna on the 1st Nov, 13th Nov & 19th Nov respectively.

Kuwait

The dinner gala in Kuwait was held at the Residence of the German Ambassador and was attended by 125 people. The evening was a spectacular success both in creating awareness as well as generating donations.

London

The Book Launch in London was at Fortnum & Mason in the Private Drawing Room where traditional afternoon tea was served. It was attended by 65 people and Prof Chris Jones updated the gathering about the Research he and his team are doing at the Institute of Cancer Research in London ( ICR) It was inspiring for the audience to learn first hand, how the money we raise, is used.

Vienna

In Vienna the format of the launch was completely different from both the launches that preceded it. ‘A Punch of Culinary Colour’ was launched at The Kunsthistorische Museum. The Book was launched over breakfast, ’Breakfast with Breugel’, at the Museum, followed by a guided tour of the Breugel exhibit, which is a once in a lifetime opportunity to view so many of his works under one roof.

The awareness created in 2018 has been huge compared to the previous years. The Foundation hopes to continue these efforts in 2019 as well, where our teams of volunteers from different parts of the globe, will strive hard yet again to make a difference to our Fund Raising and Awareness Program.

I’ve never used a font that actually feels happy and until now. The happy fonts radiate positivity in such a subtle but clear way. I picked it for a children’s birthday invite and it worked perfectly. It’s playful but not silly, modern but not cold. If you’re designing anything cheerful—whether it’s for kids, events, or even branding so this font sets the perfect tone. It lifts the mood of the entire project.
