Remembering Rudy - The Walk 2015- London/Nottingham/Dubai

Three walks in memory of Rudy were held on June 7th, 2015 in London, Nottingham, and Dubai to raise awareness of Gliomatosis Cerebri. A cumulative total of more than 100 people walked in support of the cause.

To coincide with the walk and help raise funds, a raffle was held, which garnered a lot of interest and was a huge success.

We would like to thank our sponsors and everyone who attended the walk for their donations and support.

The Remembering Rudy Walk was held for the third year in a row and we were once again humbled and honoured by the support from friends and well wishers who came from near and far, to walk the seven bridges of London, as well as those who walked in Nottingham, New York, and Dubai.

This year, another raffle was held to raise funds and was once again a huge success.

A major highlight for the Foundation in this year's Walk was the attendance of Professor Chris Jones, who graced the occasion and enlightened all of us on the work he and his team are doing at the ICR. The progress made in the past year, on gathering data for Gliomatosis Cerebri has been very encouraging, but there is still a long way to go.

This year, the Foundation handed over a cheque for £10,000 to Prof. Jones towards his research.

We thank everyone who attend the walk and also walked with us in spirit, as well as all the sponsors  and donors, who continue to support us with their generosity.

The Remembering Rudy Walk for the fourth year was scheduled to be held as always, by walking the seven bridges in London, from the Westminster Bridge  to Tower Bridge. However, the unfortunate events on the previous night on London Bridge (June 3), resulted in the area being cordoned off and closed to public the next morning. Hence the plan had to be changed and everyone was asked to assemble at the meeting point near Tower Bridge. Despite all the tube closures and route diversions, we were extremely grateful and humbled that despite all the inconvenience, everyone showed up. We then held our tribute to the memory of our beloved Rudy and then conducted the rest of the session over lunch.

This year the raffle had some fabulous prizes, and we are grateful to all our donors. In fact we had additional prizes due to the generosity of some more sponsors and so in all had six draws. Congratulations to the winners.

ICR was represented in great strength, with Prof. Chris Jones and many of his team in attendance. We are happy to state that this year The Rudy A Menon Foundation handed over a cheque for £20,000 to ICR for the research on Gliomatosis Cerebri (GC).

Prof Jones gave a short update on the progress of the research on GC and it was encouraging to note the fact that the data was now available from around 100 samples. He has also been able to work with some live cells and this is a great step forward in understanding the disease a little better.

We are extremely thankful to all our supporters, donors and sponsors without whom, we will not be able to make a difference, in this endeavor to save lives, especially of  children, because of this devastating disease.

Working in Collaboration with 'Food For All'

An awareness event on Gliomatosis Cerebri was held at the Al Corniche Club, Kuwait. The response was very heartening and the need to do more to ensure that families and patients know where to turn, when struck with this disease was well received.

Tough Mudder - 2017

June 4th, 2017 London

Food for All (FFA) is a registered charity based in London which provides food on a daily basis to the homeless, unemployed, and the needy.

In the spirit of philanthropy and giving back to the community, The Rudy A Menon Foundation worked in collaboration with the FFA by providing and distributing over 1,000 hot meals to the sick and those in need.

Fund raising by the Rudy A Menon team at Tough Mudder, UK was a difficult and body numbing experience. But it raised a lot of money.

Well Done Team.
